Back in December of 2022, Veeva announced it would not be extending its contract with Salesforce, effectively moving away from the CRM platform by 2025. In today’s episode, we’re going to take a look at what that means. We often mention the idea of having autonomous control over your Salesforce data, and this scenario with Veeva is another example of how important owning your data is. This split leaves the question of whether or not Salesforce users will continue with Salesforce, or migrate over to Veeva’s new CRM platform, Veeva Vault. Or even whether or not they will consider a whole new platform altogether.
Regardless of the choice, it’s valuable to keep your data under your control no matter what happens with the market. And here at CapStorm, our solutions do just that. We give you a pathway to ownership over your Salesforce data. What does that mean? You decide your data belongs, and how you want to use it.

Hello, my name is Drew Niermann, and you’re watching Data Unleashed, the video blog series dedicated to helping you get more out of your investment in Salesforce.
Today, I’d like to talk a little bit about the announcement of Veeva severing ties with Salesforce from December of 2022. We talk a lot about on this video blog, the idea of having ownership and control over your Salesforce data. This is, in my opinion, a scenario in which it makes a ton of sense or pays dividends to have true ownership and control over your Salesforce data.
So when Veeva moves everything over to its Veeva Vault CRM, what will the healthcare and life sciences customers of Salesforce do? Will they keep things in Salesforce? Will they keep 50% of the data in Salesforce and migrate 50% of it over to Viva will they pull all of that out of Salesforce and move it over to Veeva or maybe even move it over to a different a different CRM like Microsoft Dynamics, something like this?
Whatever the outcome is going to be, it’s very valuable to have that data under your autonomous control, so that whatever the market conditions are, whatever new partners come into play for Salesforce, regardless of how Veeva does on their own, with the Veeva Vault CRM, you can have autonomous control over your data and decide where it belongs.
So if this is something that is of interest to you, we’d love to hear from you on LinkedIn, you can drop me a note.
We’d also be happy to tell you a little bit more about solutions for gaining a pathway to own ownership and control over your Salesforce data. If you’d like to, send us a note at www.capstorm.com. My name is Drew Niermann,. and thank you again for watching Data Unleashed.
