We’ve recently launched the CapStorm Salesforce Connector, a Snowflake-native app that enables direct migration (not just a copy) of Salesforce data, metadata, and schema into Snowflake. Our goal is to redefine data management by offering full referential integrity, eliminating manual processes, and significantly reducing costs – all while enhancing Snowflake’s powerful data capabilities.
Why Move Beyond Salesforce Data Cloud’s Zero-Copy Architecture?
Salesforce Data Cloud offers a zero-copy approach, allowing businesses to view their data without migrating it. While useful for some, this model presents key challenges:
Limited Data Ownership & Usability
Zero-copy data means businesses do not own or control their data as an asset. They can only view it within the Data Cloud framework but cannot migrate, transform, or use it as a true data repository. This restriction prevents organizations from leveraging their Salesforce data for advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and full operational flexibility.
Manual Effort & Complexity
Implementing and maintaining Data Cloud requires significant manual effort from installation to configuration to ongoing management. This process demands skilled professionals, introducing potential human error, inefficiencies, and time delays. By contrast, the CapStorm Salesforce Connector is up and running in under 10 minutes, offering improved Salesforce-to-Snowflake functionality without the heavy operational burden.
High Costs & Licensing Fees
Data Cloud licensing is expensive, making it cost-prohibitive for many businesses. CapStorm’s solution provides a commercially aligned, cost-effective alternative that delivers full data access without impacting licensing costs.
How to leverage Snowflake’s Zero Copy Clone with a Salesforce-to-Snowflake Replication Process
Once data is within Snowflake, the zero-copy clone Snowflake feature provides powerful capabilities for internal data management, allowing organizations to quickly duplicate tables, schemas, or databases without additional storage costs.
The CapStorm Salesforce Connector enhances this by ensuring that Salesforce data is continuously and securely replicated into Snowflake in near real-time. This allows businesses to fully integrate their Salesforce data model with Snowflake’s advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and reporting tools – without the need for complex ETL pipelines.
By going beyond those capabilities, the CapStorm Salesforce Connector enables:
- True Data Ownership – Take full control of your Salesforce data, ensuring autonomy and security beyond zero-copy constraints.
- Fast & Automated Deployment – Unlike complex ETL processes, CapStorm’s Connector deploys in under 10 minutes for hands-free Salesforce-to-Snowflake integration.
- Lower Total Cost of Ownership – Reduce expenses by eliminating manual data extraction and third-party integration dependencies.
- Preserved Data Integrity – Maintain accuracy and consistency, ensuring that Salesforce data remains reliable and analytics-ready.
- No Vendor Lock-In – Break free from restrictive platforms and retain full flexibility to use your Salesforce data how and where you need it.
The CapStorm Salesforce Connector ensures that Salesforce data is fully integrated into Snowflake, allowing businesses to leverage Snowflake’s full capabilities – the Snowflake zero-copy clone functionality – to maximize data usability and insights.

Hello. My name is Ted Pappas, and welcome to Radical Transparency. In this video series, we’ll talk about why having a copy of your Salesforce data off-platform is critical to your business.
And I’ll work under the Salesforce pillar of equal education. My goal in this series is very simple. It’s to make sure that every single person in the Salesforce community is equally educated in the art of possible with a copy of your Salesforce data off platform.
I’m going to talk a little fast in this segment today, because there’s a lot to cover. But the topic is this, how do I get my data from the Forc.com platform into my Snowflake environment? Most customers we talked to today are doing it via Data Cloud, and almost all of them say Data Cloud is a great product, but we’ve got major limitations.
Limitation number one that we hear is you can’t use the data. You just view the data. So data, metadata and schema has viewership rights only. You can’t use it as a digital asset for integration, for advanced analytics and the Snowflake data warehouse. That’s number one.
Number two is this, humans and time, lots of people, lots of time for the initial install and config humans plus time equal error, no automations. Number two. And number three is the good old fashioned thing called data bloat. Aggregated date data in Salesforce makes you hit the storage limit faster than you’re supposed to, and it gets really expensive when you get out of capacity. We launched just maybe last week, the CapStorm Salesforce Connector. It is a direct connect between your Force.com platform and your Snowflake infrastructure in less than five minutes and three clicks.
You can replicate the entire data model, your entire data model from your force.com platform, data, metadata and schema into your Snowflake infrastructure, natively to Snowflake. So you’re probably thinking now, how about Snowflake’s zero-copy, clone? That’s a great one, because we complement it and we complement it in three ways.
The first way is data recovery. We also have the ability to reverse ETL the data. So think about ETL on the way out. Now you have the ability to reverse ETL back into the force.com platform, bi directional syncs. The second is data versioning. There’s a thing called point-in-time recovery. The way that we use change, data capture, you can get to a single point in time with our connector.
And the third is performance and cost. We only do delta syncs at the frequency rate that the API allows us to do it. It gives you faster performance in the platform. It eliminates data bloke, and it reduce your cost in platform. So if you’re moving data from force to Snowflake, the CapStorm Salesforce Connector is three clicks, set it and forget it, and it’s bi directional sync.
Again, my name is Ted Pappas. I’m the CEO of CapStorm. Thank you for watching Radical Transparency this week, and I hope to see you in Radical Transparency next week. Thank you.
