But there is a way around this. CS:Archive – a Salesforce data archival solution, is designed to help reduce storage costs, maintain compliance, and access archived data seamlessly outside of Salesforce.
The High Cost of Salesforce Storage
Salesforce storage costs can quickly spiral out of control, especially for organizations managing large datasets. Keeping all your data within Force.com is not always practical or cost-effective. CS:Archive enables you to copy all data, metadata, and schema from Salesforce, giving you a high-fidelity replica that you can store outside of the platform.
This unlocks two critical benefits:
Reduce Salesforce Storage Costs with Data Archiving
By moving data out of Salesforce, you free up expensive storage space while maintaining a complete copy. As a Salesforce archiving solution, CS:Archive ensures that your data is preserved securely and remains accessible.
Use this data as a backup or integrate it with other data sources for business intelligence, analytics, or AI/ML use cases.
Archive Salesforce Data for Compliance & Retention Policies
Regulatory requirements often mandate long-term data retention, even after records are removed from Salesforce. A strong Salesforce data management strategy is crucial to meeting compliance standards while optimizing costs.
With CS:Archive, you can securely store data in low-cost, long-term cold storage like AWS S3, ensuring compliance without the high price tag.
What Makes CS:Archive Unique for Salesforce Archiving Solutions?
Salesforce data archival outside of Salesforce is not new, but making it accessible, verifiable, and usable is where CS:Archive separates itself. When you remove data from Salesforce, you don’t have to sacrifice accessibility. The CapStorm Data Viewer allows you to interact with archived data as if it were still inside the Force.com platform.
This means:
- No reliance on Salesforce storage while maintaining easy data access.
- The ability to run reports, perform audits, and respond to legal or regulatory inquiries without restoring data back into Salesforce.
- Seamless integration with other enterprise systems.

Video Transcript
Hello. My name is Ted Pappas, and welcome to Radical Transparency.
In this video series, we’ll talk about why having an off-platform copy of your Salesforce data model is critical to your business.
And I’ll work under the Salesforce pillar of equal education. My goal is really simple. It’s to make sure that every single person in the Salesforce community is equally educated in the art of possible with a Salesforce backup out of platform.
And today we’re going to talk about CS:Archive. It’s it’s actually really significant and enormously simple to execute.
Everyone knows Salesforce storage limits are legitimate, and the thing called Data bloat is very, very real. We have a product that allows you to take a copy of your entire data, model, data, metadata, and schema out of platform and store it in a long-term archival platform like AWS’s S3, but you get two options.
You can leave it as a copy for integration use cases outside of the force.com platform, or you can delete the data in the force.com platform without concern, because inside your bucket of S3 there’s a Data Viewer that allows you to view the data model as if it were in Salesforce.
So, for governance and compliance use cases for things like legal hold or every use case that is needed for long-term retention policies in a data repository, it doesn’t have to be at the expense of the force.com platform. CS:Archive – remove data from platform, view it outside of platform as if it were in platform.
