A Clicked-Based Interface Offers a User-Friendly Approach to Backups
Implementing data backup solutions for Salesforce can be a challenging project that requires a lot of resources. While it’s possible to back up most of the data, it’s not always feasible to back up everything with full fidelity or referential integrity. This approach demands specialized technical expertise and poses significant challenges in terms of scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. It also requires the use of humans and CSVs to capture the entire data model.
However, with Salesforce Clicks, Not Code backups, off-platform backups can offer a user-friendly, click-based interface that streamlines the entire backup process. Forget the days of complex coding and infrastructure setup – with just a few clicks, users can initiate automated backups of their Salesforce data, ensuring high-fidelity protection against data loss, data corruption, and failures.
You’ll have the unique ability to provision infrastructure environments and build custom code on the fly, all in response to a simple user action – clicking a button. This seamless integration of infrastructure provisioning and code execution enables customers to enjoy the benefits of a Software as a Service (SaaS)-like experience while harnessing the power of off-platform Salesforce data backups.
Gain Accessible and Verifiable Data Using Clicks, Not Code
The advantages of using Salesforce Clicks, Not Code backups are not limited to just simplifying the backup process. Hello, my name is Ted Pappas, and welcome to Radical Transparency. In this video series, we’re going to talk about why having a Salesforce backup off platform is critical to your business.
And we’re going to follow the Salesforce pillar of equal education. My goal in this series is really simple. It’s to make sure that every single person in the Salesforce community is equally educated in the art of possible, of having a Salesforce backup off-platform.
And today, we’re going to talk about a topic that is in the Salesforce ecosystem, everywhere every day. And it’s called clicks dot code. So for those of you that don’t know what clicks not code means, it’s very simple. It’s when you drag something from the Salesforce UI into another area of the Salesforce UI, let’s just make it up and say a Field for reporting. You drag it from one area in the UI to another.
And the report just works. The backend of the platform builds the code, or the SQL queries in this example, to make the report run.
So now you’re probably thinking how in the world is clicks dot code apply to a Salesforce backup off-platform? Well, first are, first of all, let me explain what a Salesforce backup off-platform means. It means the data is behind your firewall, which means that you, the customer have to provision the server, you have to provision the storage environment. And you have to establish network connectivity to the internet.
So we can have your Salesforce credentials to take your data from the force.com platform into presumably a VPC in a public cloud environment behind your firewall. So now you might be thinking, how in the world does clicks not code apply to a Salesforce backup off-platform, and this is how it does. You click a button, and we build the code to stand up the server to stand up the storage to stand up the network, access out to the internet, and maintain the firewall.
And now you’re probably thinking holy cow, this still feels like a SaaS platform for backup, it’s not. And here’s why – clicks not code for Salesforce backup off-platform means that you still get access. That’s to the data, you can still verify the data is there. And you get full fidelity and referential integrity of the data. So you click a button, we build the code, but you still get the benefits of accessible and verifiable data off platform.
So you can use the data for things like data archiving, analytics into Redshift, Snowflake or BigQuery enterprise category reporting into Power BI as an example, or Tableau. But you get the benefit of eliminating the Data Silo that’s created from the direct connect from the Force.com platform to these providers.
So clicks not code for a Salesforce backup off-platform.
