CapStorm Crew: Brant Schwendel, Our Homerun-Hitting Account Executive

Brant Schwendel joins the CapStorm Crew as one of our newest account executives. Read on to learn more about this sports-loving, former college baseball player.

Can you tell us a little about your background?

I grew up loving sports, playing and watching them as much as possible, with main emphasis on baseball but also loving golf. My dream growing up was to make it to the MLB. I chased that dream all the way into my first couple of years of college before deciding to hang it up and so I could focus on school and figuring out how to go make money.

What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?

I once met Kobe Bryant while living in Newport Beach, California.

What is your favorite pastime?

Love, love, love golf and the constant pursuit of getting better at it.

Do you have any programs that you are currently binge-watching?

Nothing that I’m currently binge watching, but waiting for the new episodes of Yellowstone and trying to get going on the Game of Thrones books so my fiancee and I can binge watch together. She’s never seen them, this would be my fourth time through.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you pick?

It’s not too far away but I’d pick Colorado. I love snowboarding and hiking and having access to both on the weekends would be a lot of fun for a little while.

Internationally, I’d pick either Germany or Italy.

How did you get started in your industry?

After college, I got started as a Sales Development Representative (SDR) with an IT solutions company that specializes in on-prem services and hardware.

What’s been your most interesting job so far?

My most interesting job so far was when I was a lead installer in college for a shades/blinds company. Worked a lot of crazy hours on sketchy ladders and lifts, but did really cool projects in different cities around the southeast. From thousands of blinds in college dorm projects to super custom motorized shades in high rise office spaces.

What drew you to CapStorm?

I was drawn to CapStorm by the values and offering, both of which everyone that I spoke with couldn’t say enough good things about.

What are your goals for the next six months?

My goal for the next six months is to get up to speed as fast as possible so Drew and team and I can become a FORCE when it comes to helping prospects and customers solve their problems using our software.

I’d like to increase spend with current customers I’m entrusted with, and to bring in multiple new business opportunities.

Who would you select as a mentor if you could choose anybody, and why?

I’d select Derek Jeter. I grew up a die-hard Yankees fan because he was the ideal leader and carried himself with so much professionalism every single day. It was watching him that taught me how to work hard and be a good teammate in my baseball days, and what I try to carry into my career in sales to this day.
